yucky

Dr. Coburn wedged Athan in for an appointment today. He has a UTI. Ick. Poor kid. Probably being constipated has also put pressure on his bladder and caused the infection. We're working on both things more aggressively, so maybe this will be it.

So here's the challenge: Athan is still underweight, so we're trying to pack on the pounds. Athan is prone to constipation. Foods that are high in calories are usually foods that constipate. Foods that help keep things moving are low in calories. Any ideas about what I should feed my son?

Hi Amberly, Meredith's mom here!
I just heard an interesting thing yesterday having to with constipation in dogs - I don't know if there would be any correlation, but it couldn't hurt to try! Digestion is digestion! A friend was told to give her dog canned pumpkin to relieve constipation! And it worked. So maybe work some pumpkin into Athan's daily diet. How would oatmeal and pumpkin be? Then maybe he could handle some good ole mashed potatoes and butter!! Yum! Just a thought! Good luck. I am always amazed at how well yall cope with whatever is thrown your way! What lucky kids! to have yall for parents. Love, Jan

Mexican food... Never seems to lend itself to much constipation with athan's male relatives :)
