good day today

Athan is doing well again today! :) Nursing great, diaper rash getting better. Our posts may be a little redundant now - it appears the next few days are just going to be "wait and watch." Everyone seems to be satisfied with his condition from now until follow-up in clinic in 6 weeks or so except for endocrinology. All that we lack is weaning him down a little each day off of his med for his adrenal insufficiency. Once we find that level and make sure he will tolerate it, we can go home. I AM ready to get him home, but right now the longer we're here the better because it means he is tolerating a lower dose of the medicine. I hope we stay here long enough to wean him right off of it, and we can go home on 2 meds instead of 3! Even if not, the lower the dose the better.

Ryan and I rested well last night, and Ryan is well enough to hold our Athan again. Ryan is doing such an amazing job of taking care of me and of Athan. It is sweet beyond words to be married to such a wondrful husband and father.

more soon...

Meredith's mom here. It is wonderful beyond words to hear such positive results from rounds and doctors. Athan is an angel for sure. I know you both are so strong in your faith and that has been such a comfort in the trying days past. I am truly thrilled for your good news. Give that sweet baby boy and kiss for me. Jan Thornell

Amber & Ryan,

Saw your precious daughter last night at Grammy's new house. Morgan was not sharing much love with Aunt Gwen, but she was in good humor and was doing great! They were all excited to be together. I know you miss her, however we are all so blessed to have loving families. Great to hear daily reports about Athan's progress and thoughts of going home with his loving parents. I'm praying and will keep in touch. Hug each other for me!!!

Love, xxxx oooo

What a beautiful boy God has given you. It is wonderful to be able to keep up with his progress through the blog.
I know that it is tough right now, but God is able and I am so glad that you know Him and rely on Him. We pray for all of you daily.
We love you.
God never fails.

Amber and family,
We have been steadily praying for all of you since Mandy called the other day. This evening we saw Loy in Friona and she told me about the blog--have been reading about the amazing journey you have been on--Mandy's Ben spent several weeks in NICU when he was born, so I know how painful and exhaustive that can be. Athan is absolutely beautiful and you can be sure he feels your love and strength during those feeding/holding times--and it DOES make a difference. We will continue presenting Athan to our Father each day and know he will be home with you soon. Hope we get to see Morgan while she's close to us!
We love you, Amber!
